Hello Blogging World

First of all, I want to apologize in advance. This is my very first blogging experience and I am expecting the beginning of this journey to be a little rocky as I am learning so many new things all at once! For years I have tossed around the idea of blogging. I owe a big thank-you to my sister-in-law (whom also has a lovely blog and you should probably check her out after you're done here) for inspiring me to finally do this.

On this blog I am going to share one of my biggest loves - food. For the most part I will be focusing on baking, cakes in particualr, but I don't want to limit myself. I enjoy making and creating all kinds of food, not just the sweet stuff. Once in a while I may even post some of my thoughts and/or life updates, I haven't quite decided yet.. As I mentioned earlier, the start of this blog might be a little all over the place until I start to catch on!

Can I just say - I LOVE FOOD. I love food so much that I quite literally think about it 90% of the time, which may be a little exccesive, I'll admit. I thoroughly enjoy testing new flavor combinations and techniques. Because of this, I rarely make the same thing twice! I tend to spend my spare time combining two of my most favorite hobbies, baking and film/photography. Two years ago I began my YouTube Channel, which has allowed my passion for baking to grow from an occional hobby to a full-time job. I am extremely fortunate to have a job that allows me to spend my days in a kitchen surrounded by all sorts of delicous foods - both savoury and sweet! Food makes me happy, if you haven't aleady figured that out by now.

If you want to know a little bit more about my background and my journey with food, I recommend reading my "About Me" section.

For now I want to say thank you for reading my little spiel, if you managed to stay awake until the end. I promise that my next post will be more exciting.. Until next time!

Oh yeah, this is a photo of the cake I made for my wedding. It definitely tasted as good as it looks!

DELILAH'S
BAKING TIPS

#1

Always keep your work space clutter-free. Less clutter will result in less stress and allow you to work with ease in the kitchen. Don't forget to immedietly wipe up messes as well!

#2

Store your dry goods in large, labeled containers. I love to keep my flours, sugars, etc. in seperate containers rather than in their original packaging. This will help the dry goods stay fresh, not to mention it looks much prettier!

#3

Be sure to thoroughly study a recipe before using it. I find that I make less mistakes if I take the time to read all the ingredients and instructions very carefully before I begin. This will focus your mind and prepare you for your next step.
